Election Observers Wanted

CAFFE is a voluntary civic organisation. Its officers and volunteers are persons who are dedicated to the objective of preserving the democratic process by ensuring free and fair elections.

CONTACT US

CAFFE is a civic organization comprised of dedicated volunteers who are committed to safeguarding the democratic process through ensuring free and fair elections. To prepare volunteers for monitoring elections, CAFFE conducts training sessions that equip them with the necessary knowledge to observe electoral procedures effectively. Following their observations, volunteers submit reports for review by CAFFE’s Board, which then uses these findings to make informed recommendations aimed at enhancing electoral systems and practices.

In addition to its monitoring role, CAFFE also serves as an advocacy group that critiques improper conduct and promotes fairness and good governance in electoral matters. The organization actively engages in policy discussions, contributing to the development of recommendations on issues such as campaign financing and the registration of political parties.

Periodically, CAFFE and its officers release public statements addressing constitutional and electoral concerns. The organization is currently initiating a project to establish Democracy Clubs in schools across Jamaica, reinforcing its commitment to civic education.

Becoming a volunteer with CAFFE is a straightforward process. Prospective volunteers simply need to complete a form and pledge their support for the organization’s objectives. Those interested in serving as election observers should generally be at least 18 years of age, although exceptions can be made for 17-year-olds with written consent from a parent or guardian. For all other CAFFE activities, there are no specific age requirements.

To volunteer, you may send an email to [email protected]. Please specify your parish either in the email body or subject line, and don’t forget to include your telephone number for easy contact.

By streamlining your message in this manner, you can effectively communicate CAFFE’s roles, objectives, and volunteer requirements, making it easier for interested individuals to understand how they can contribute to the organization’s important work.
